Klaus Dodds (Royal Holloway, University of Liverpool) and Richard Powell (University of Liverpool) have been awarded an ESRC Seminar series award (January 2010-July 2011) for the following topic - ‘Knowledges, resources and legal regimes: the new geopolitics of the Polar Regions’.

This seminar will launch the network by considering the new geopolitical considerations that are affecting the Polar regions. Why has there been a growth of political attention towards these regions? What environmental changes are evident? What legal regimes are in place? What might be the geopolitical and strategic repercussions in the future?
